CBCC Summmer Camp Sessions 2012

SESSION I
“WONDERS OF THE RAINFOREST”
June 18 - 29, 2012

Children will participate in activities emphasizing the natural wonders of the rainforest. CBCC Summer Campers will create a nature collection, go on safari, and uncover animals in disguise. Campers will create a giant Rainforest mural laden with jungle creatures. The Catoctin Zoo will visit to introduce campers to some exotic animals.

SESSION II
“A SPACE ODYSSEY”
July 2 - 13, 2012*

Join us on our pretend voyage through the daytime and nighttime skies, exploring the planets and stars. CBCC Summer Campers will build and launch rockets, collect and experiment with space “specimens” – rocks, crystals and moon dust, and create their own asteroid belts.
* Summer Camp CLOSED on Wednesday, July 4th, 2012 in observance of Independence Day.

SESSION III
“THE SUMMER OLYMPICS”
July 16 – 27, 2012

The eyes of the world will be on London on July 27th for the Opening Ceremony of the 2012 Olympic Games. To get into the spirit of the Summer Games, CBCC Summer Campers will participate in Olympic-like events of their own, complete with Marshmallow Relays, Bottle Bowling, Kickball Baseball, and much more.

SESSION IV
“EXPLORING OUR COMMUNITY”
July 30 – August 15, 2012**

The citizens of CBCC Summer Camp will explore jobs, buildings, transportation, parks and recreation in our community. Campers will take walks in the neighborhood, create maps, and build a mini-town. We’ll learn about caring for our environment.
** Summer camp CLOSES at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 15, 2012. No extended day will be offered on that day.
